This is a follow up story to TAKING THE OATH OF OFFICE, posted on January 16th.

On January 28th the Hoboken Board of Education unanimously supported their recommendation to appoint Monica Stromwall to fill the vacant board seat of newly elected 33rd district Assemblyman Carmelo Garcia.  Mrs. Stromwall will serve out the last year of Garcia's three year term and then will have to win re-election in November 2014 if she wishes to retain her seat.

Attending the interviews: Board President, Dr. Gold, Board Vice President Ruth McAllister, Board members; Irene Sobolov, Jean Marie Mitchell, Jennifer Evans, Tom Kluepfel and Peter Biancamano.
Frances Rhodes-Kearns was absent.

Stromwall is a parent of a first grade student attending Wallace Elementary School and her youngest child who will enter the district's early childhood program in September.  She is a member of the Wallace School PTO and is a co-founder of the Wallace after school enrichment program.

I wish her great success as the newest member of the Hoboken Board of Education!
